Engrish
After my second Asian picture post a few of my readers commented on how I should check out this site Engrish.com. It's a site dedicated to the Asian butchery of our language. While traveling in the Orient I saw some Engrish personally.
In our Hotel there was a "Weeding Chapel" instead of a wedding chapel.
Across the street from our Hotel there was a "Boad Game Cafe" instead of a board game cafe.
There was jewelry store that misspelled jewelry. Is said "Jewllry Store".
And the best example of Engrish I saw is..

We just HAD to buy this because you never know when you might want to remove a lip or an eye.
Alteast it was the "sensitive" formula, because from what I've heard, lip & eye removal can be quite painful.
LOVE IT, Courty girl!

Courtney and Jamie loved all the things you brought back from Korea and Japan for us. Courty I'm glad you didn't bring some of this lip and eye remover for me........LOL
We still haven't sampled all the perserved food items you brought back, and we probably never will as those dried tiny minnows in that snack bag do not appeal to me at all, but we enjoyed sampling a few of them. Nana

Courty when reading my previous post the last line sounded like we enjoyed eating the minnows, no, no, no, what I mean't was we enjoyed eating some of the other items in the bag....big difference..no minnows for me. Nana

Saturday Night Live had a fake ad once for a fluid you could dab onto offending sixth fingers to make them fall off. (They also had one for a product that made husbands more agreeable to wives called Balzoff. I'm not getting near that one...) I'm not sure when one would have a need to remove a lip or an eye, but fashion being what it is, I'm sure someone has tried to promote such things as "trendy". :)

What an incredibly useful product! Where can I get some? On the topic of Engrish, I particularly enjoy the the subtitles in bad Kung Fu films. Nice blog, I'll be back.

That's funny!
Here's a little Engrish for you: This summer when I came home to my parent's house after graduating from college, my dad had decorated my room with balloons and stuff. One of the banners he had strung up boldly proclaimed, "Concratulations." Yup, made in Asia.

Lip and eye remover? Sounds painful yet effective way to get your nosy neighbors to stop spying on you or to get your kid brother to shut up. ^_^
